  5. Surprised that a diver would have Mac attach a regulator to a tank on a paddleboard where water could get into the primary instead of on shore beforehand and would say that with nitrox you can go deeper and longer without mentioning the depth limits of nitrox.

  7. Now I know why I enjoy your stories. They are exciting, keep me on the edge and I hate when one ends. But to know you grew up on John D. McDOnald’s books and with Travis McGee, WOW! I have all his books and re-read them constantly. Unlike you tho, I can read a book in a couple days, being a voracious reader. Keep your stories coming……

  14. Have rad Wood’s Revenge and Wood’s Reef. Just ordered Wood’s Betrayal. Love the Mac Travis series. Got clued on to your books through my reading Wayne Stinnett’s books [Jessie McDermitt series]. I’ve also read all of Randy Wayne White’s books [Doc Ford series] and all of James Hall [Thorn series]. In your writings, I find a continuation of the style of those authors and to say that yours are equally as thrilling and hard to put down. Keep the books coming. Also, I’m a scuba diver, and have practically call the Keys [Marathon especially] my second home. I live on Marco Island. Keep up the good work and keep those books coming.

  16. I have read all of the Mac Travis books and I have started re-reading them. I wish I had a list in chronological order to be able to read your books in order. I have over 415 books in my Amazon Device and content list but absolutely cannot find a way to print the comprehensive list. I will try to read the Kurt Hunter series in order once I find a way to make a list. Keep up the good work.

  17. I have binge read all of the books..and loved how some of your characters, and Wayne Stinnett’s interact with each other. The flawed characters, dangerous scenarios, technical accuracy, historical aspects, educational information , greedy political plots and ecological threats interspersed with comic relief is addicting! .I looked everywhere for the Wood’s Ledge short story at the end the ebook, however disappointed that the website was suspended.I am looking forward to more adventures of all characters, and another way to obtain that short story!

  18. Steven, really enjoyed your books. The Mac Travis series is my favorite. Just curious as to why you chose first person point of view for “Dorado Duet”, at least for most of it, although you switched to third person later in the book?

  19. Just finished reading Tides of Fortune 5-book series and hope there are more to come. I’ve read all your books and this series without a doubt has been the best. A fast paced story that kept me entranced from the first. Thank you for keeping the language decent and romance to a minimum. You’re such a talented writer and so glad I’ve found your books!

  20. HI Mr. Becker, I work at a library in Cocoa, Florida and we have been adding your Mac Travis adventure series to our collection. I’m trying to figure out how to put them numerically in the series. The internet is very confusing as to which order they should be in. One site says one thing and then one says another. Could you let me know the order of the titles in this series, please? Thank you so much!

  23. As I can not travel now as I usually do this time of year, I am reading and/or rereading series taking part in Florida and thus can at least be on vacation in my mind. My FL-list so far is James W. Hall, Carl Hiassen, Randy Wayne White, John D. MacDonald, Steven Becker and the so far two books by Robin Elder. How glad I am that I found a suggestion for your books on Facebook (“The Danamaniacs” groupe – from Dana Stabenow = Alaska series) and could add you to my favorites list! I tried the first Mac Travis book and was hooked right from the start so now I downloaded the whole series and am looking forward to start your other series after those. I very much like your writing style and the fast-paced action and above all I just love the Florida Keys locations. I have been visiting for the last 45 years, the last 30 years regularly, often even twice a year (got even married in Tavernier). So I recognize each street, channel or red light you describe, having past Marathon on our way from Islamorada where we stay to Key West so many times. It’s so good to be back through your books! Coming from Switzerland we have not been allowed to visit for more than a year now, but we booked for November 2021 already and hope to be able to travel. Our holiday activity is mainly fishing, but we are not boat people, we usually fish from shore or from the bridges. It’s a change of climate as well for us as we live in the mountains with long and cold winters. I am looking forward to your other books and can’t wait – reading several of them in a week’s time!
